Foster America is pleased to announce we are expanding our mission with a bold new goal: to co-design and implement just, equitable alternatives to foster care.

Building on seven years of success driving positive change through our immersive fellowship program, Foster America is honing its focus to prevention efforts – building family and community well-being to reduce reliance on foster care.

Our strategy centers on collaborative partnerships with local governments and community stakeholders, as well as lived experts – those with firsthand experience with the child welfare system. The site partnership unfolds in two phases, the first dedicated to listening and second, to innovating.

Our monthslong comprehensive “discovery” reviews performance data, uplifts community voices, and captures the site’s current ways of working with families. This culminates in a roadmap report, which helps us work together to set goals, develop plans, and define ways to measure impact.

What sets Foster America apart is what happens next – our “engagement” phase. Foster America’s dedication to transforming child welfare doesn’t stop at envisioning alternatives; our commitment extends to testing and scaling those solutions alongside our local partners.

We are also expanding our commitment to develop talent in our sector. We achieve this by continuing to embed fellows locally to drive our engagements and offering an expanded coaching and curriculum model that welcomes many more child welfare changemakers to develop their leadership skills with us.

To complement this expansion, Foster America proudly unveils a fresh logo and website design. The new visual identity symbolizes our dedication to innovating new paths forward for children and families. Our redesigned website serves as a resource hub, offering valuable insights, success stories, and information about our work.

Foster America’s innovative strategy marks a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to transform child welfare. Together, we can create alternatives to foster care that provide parents with the support they want and need – until every family thrives.
