In Gratitude: Foster America Reflects on 2022

Dear friends,

As 2022 comes to a close, we are grateful for another year of innovation, impact, and inspiration. This year, we graduated two cohorts of fellows. They supported relative caregivers and older youth in foster care, and advanced equitable approaches to family wellbeing. In October, we convened them and our wider network to dive deep – sharing and refining strategies to transform child welfare systems. As our alumni network continues to grow, we are incredibly proud that nearly all remain in the social sector, leading boldly in government agencies, national organizations, and communities across the country.

We know our work to create pathways that enhance resources and strengthen relationships for families continues to be needed, now more than ever. We look ahead with hope and energy — designing solutions together with lived experts, growing the leadership skills of changemakers, and cultivating partnerships to build the child and family wellbeing approaches of the future.

As you take a few minutes to read our 2022 highlights, know that we are deeply grateful, as always, for your support. Your continued commitment truly powers our mission. If you haven’t already, we hope you will consider a year-end gift in support of the important work ahead in 2023.

Warmest wishes this season,
Marie Zemler Wu
Co-Founder and Executive Director
