Chynna Phillips brings extensive experience as a former community organizer turned philanthropist to her role. She has over a decade of nonprofit experience advocating for vulnerable populations. Transitioning from educating children below poverty guidelines to serving as a servant leader intern at the Children’s Defense Fund, she later moved into community health and rose to Senior Director of Policy and Research at the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina, where she led its public policy and advocacy efforts. She is also a small business owner and proud recipient of the 2023 Gerry Sue Arnold Alumni Award. Her leadership was recognized as a 2022 Association of Black Funding Executives Fellow, and she was featured as an SC State Newspaper’s 2020 “Top 20 under 40” Young Adult Honoree.
