Foster America tapped to speak at Kempe Center Conference

Foster America is proud to join this year’s presenters at the Kempe Center International Call to Action Conference, Oct. 6-9, 2025.

This annual conference is part of a growing global movement to bring lasting change to the way child welfare systems work. It unites practitioners, policy- and lawmakers, academics, families, and communities in an agenda for real change.

Bringing the best and most innovative ideas about changing practice, relationships, systems and institutions, it seeks to motivate, educate and inspire changemakers around the world. Sharing ideas, information, creating lively inclusive debate and making new international connections is at the heart of this event.

Foster America’s sessions include:

  • Beyond Survival: Stories, Strength, and System Shifts | This session previews Foster America’s upcoming virtual learning series, which covers issues concerning today’s foster youth including housing instability, food insecurity, and more.
  • Co-designing Emergent Fiscal Strategies for Child Welfare Transformation | This interactive session is designed to explore fiscal innovation by analyzing data, co-designing project ideas, and developing strategies to boost investments in prevention services.

Each year, the conference:

  • Builds and supports a global movement of changemakers striving to bring radical and lasting transformation to child welfare practice, policy, systems and research.
  • Convenes, motivates and inspires child welfare changemakers from around the world invested in solutions that create change.
  • Shares evidence-based research, practice knowledge, and lived experiences about what can transform child welfare and community services for families and communities.
  • Illuminates the best and most innovative ideas about changing practice, relationships, systems, and institutions.
  • Provides a safe, brave, and supportive place for the voices of children, families, and communities most impacted by child welfare and adjacent systems to be heard and have influence on future policy, service, and practice design.
