Courtney Canova is an established systems-change agent within the child welfare ecosystem and its intersections. Having lived experience in the foster care system herself, Courtney began her career in advocacy, learning about best practice and uplifting prevention and permanency initiatives into policy. She did so while gaining experience in direct service and leadership within community-based organizations. Courtney has served on various lived experience and professional advisory boards. Courtney joins Foster America after serving on the inaugural Virtual Support Services leadership team at Think of Us, where she held roles in user experience research, design, and project management. Outside of work, Courtney enjoys parenting her two young boys, spending time outdoors, and practicing yoga.
